The singer won’t be able to tour his upcoming album ‘Born and Raised’ due to a growth on his injured vocal cords — will he ever be able to sing again?
John Mayer is a super-talented singer, but he’s been sidelined from touring by a resurgence of his nasty case of granuloma — the inflammation on his vocal cords has grown back. The diagnosis is so bad that it will keep him from promoting his upcoming album Born and Raised on the road!
John, 34, released a statement on his official website on March 9 to deliver the bad news to fans.
“During rehearsal on Tuesday, it came to mind that I should see my throat doctor because something didn’t feel/sound right,” he wrote. “I went in for a visit on Wednesday and a scope of my vocal cords revealed that the granuloma has grown back where it had mostly healed. Because of this, I have no choice but to take an indefinite break from live performing. Though there will be a day when all of this will be behind me, it will sideline me for a longer period of time than I care to have you count down.”
We hope John gets well soon!
