Hi-Ho, Silver-Screen! Johnny and Armie partner up as Tonto and The Lone Ranger in the film adaptation of the classic TV western, ‘The Lone Ranger.’ Not sure about Johnny’s crow hat, but Armie looks mysteriously handsome behind the mask.
Mega-producer Jerry Bruckheimer tweeted the first photo of his Lone Ranger stars Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer as their characters Tonto and The Lone Ranger on location in New Mexico. “Tonto and The Lone Ranger Ride Again!” Jerry tweeted on March 8.
In the photo, Johnny’s face expresses a sense of doubt about his masked partner, but Armie shows no fear with his eyes forward, looking to take down any bad guys that cross their path in the dangerous Wild West.
Can’t wait to see these two blaze a new path through the West atop their trusty steeds Silver and Scout!

They found (many) Native Americans to play Tonto.
But none came up with the bizarre characterization that J. Depp came up with.
After all, this will be a comedic take on Tonto and The Lone Ranger.
