The star’s vintage Dior dress sold for $50,000 to a couture collector — would you pay that much for the gown?
Natalie Portman, 30, walked the 84th Annual Academy Awards red carpet wearing a borrowed red and black polka dotted vintage 1954 Christian Dior couture gown from Rare Vintage in NYC. The dress was purchased to an ‘unknown British couture collector’, according to the New York Post – that’s quite the price tag for fashion!
The fashion dealer put the size 4 dress for sale on the website 1stdibs.com, and the steep cost was clearly no problem — it sold quickly! We think it was an appropriate choice for Natalie, as she is the face for the label’s ‘Miss Dior Cherie’ perfume — but would you ever splurge on a vintage couture gown?
