A solider just back from Afghanistan died while trying to save his two young daughters from a deadly fire. So sad.
When their North Carolina home caught on fire, green beret Edward Cantrell and his wife Louise escaped from the home’s second floor, according to The Daily Mail. But when the 36-year-old dad realized his daughters Isabella, 6, and Natalia, 4, were trapped inside, he went back to save them.
Unfortunately, the three perished in the tragic fire. “He never made it back out,” Debbie Tanna, a Sheriff’s spokeswoman says. The bodies were found inside, and the three died from smoke inhalation.
Edward’s wife, Louise, 37, is being treated at a hospital for smoke inhalation.
Isabella was a kindergartner at Ed Baldwin Elementary School, and her principal Todd Yardis says she was very loving.
“She was very loved,” he said. “You could see that in her parents, that she was used to people caring about her.”
Our sympathies go out to the family for the sad loss.

i feel so sorry for this lady, not only did she lose her two beautiful daughters but now her husband– the one person who would be able to fully understand her pain– also died too. This woman is going to need a lot of prayers and support. I’m not saying what he did wasn’t brave, but the poor mom!
