Why Ben Flajnik Is Under Courtney Robertson's Spell, Experts Weigh In

Courtney is SO mean to the other girls on ‘The Bachelor’ that many people are surprised that Ben has kept her around. But relationship experts tell HollywoodLife.com they aren’t too shocked about their coupledom since ‘every guy likes a challenge’ — do you agree?

Courtney Robertson, 28, has put a spell on Ben Flajnik and HollywoodLife.com has the full scoop. Multiple experts tell us that Courtney’s unapologetically aggressive behavior on the reality show was actually a turn on to Ben, and that’s why he’s keeping her around!

“When a man feels he can tame a shrew, he feels he will have control over her,” relationship expert to the stars and author of How To Win At Love, Dr. Gilda Carle says. “Every guy wants that challenge. And then she becomes his — or so he believes. Bottom line: He doesn’t know what he’s in for. Once a b*tch always a b*tch.”

Amy Levine, a sex and relationship expert in NYC, believes that although Courtney was nasty to the ladies, Ben totally believed in the softer side that she revealed to him.

“Ben knows how the game is played. He’s been on the other side,” says Amy. “While he may really want to meet his future bride, Courtney’s antics and attitude set her apart from the rest, captivating him even though most people think he’s making a huge mistake. It’s likely the show is edited to depict her “evil” side, which may only be a small part of who she really is (or at least one can hope).”

Christy Whitman, co-author of Taming Your Alpha Bitch, agrees with Amy and thinks Ben saw an authentic side to Courtney and was overwrought with their strong sexual connection.

“I think on the surface, he was really mesmerized by her beauty and sexuality,” Christy tells HollywoodLife.com. “There was clearly a connection between them. I think the Courtney we see with Ben is the authentic Courtney. I think she felt safe and secure with him. But with the other women, her claws came out. When a woman operates from lack and fear, she will act out Alpha Bitch tendencies, like being competitive.”

I hope everyone realizes that you all are arguing and obsessing over a TV show. It is edited for the highest ratings. In my opinion, it makes women look unintelligent and takes advantage of weak individuals. It’s great entertainment. I like to watch with morbid curiosity. No one really believes that the individuals are looking for true love. At least I don’t. I think all of them had the same oppurtunity to be the “bad girl.” At the end of the day, you are judging individuals by creative editing.

The reason Ben liked her is because before the bachelor he was clearly a NERD. He was used to being the underdog himself and identified with her for being unliked. He said it when they climbed the Mayan Ruin that he identified with her cause they were both quirky (AKA loosers). Ben, you still aren’t welcome at the cool table. And, we are all laughing at you. Not sure what they were thinking. Ya … 25 contestants competing for grown geeks and single moms. There is NO PRIZE at the end and even the two finalists figure that out eventually (and inevitably break up) . The Bachelor is more about watching a train wreck and ratings.

Courtney wasn’t the only one who acted badly! Many of the girls did! Booze and competition for a man will sometimes bring out the worst in women. Courtney should hold her head high, lay off the booze, and trust that the right man will come to her eventually. Don’t rush it ladies!

After watching the clips of all the times Courtney was mean to the girls, it suddenly dawned on me why she seemed to have a split personality. She was drunk during those times. I’ve experienced a similar thing in a relationship with a man who was lovely when sober and obnoxious when drunk. That’s what ended it for me despite his appologies after each episode since it never changed. If Courtney hits the bottle in stressful situations, it’s the alcohol that’s bringing out the worst in her. Unless she gets help for her drinking problem no amount of remorse will change anything. I hope this becomes a wake up call so she gets help.

For as many who fall into the category you described, there are also those ‘obnoxious drinkers’ whose family/friends attributed their bad behavior to drinking only to discover once they are SOBER, they still are an obnoxious person; ala once an a_shole, always an a_shole. Absent pathological intoxication syndrome, people like to blame/rationalize alcohol as the impetus for craziness akin to being under hypnosis. Truth is, no hypnotist can compel a person to do anything under hypnosis that they wouldn’t do when they are not hypnotized. OWN YOUR BEHAVIOR & YOUR CHOICES>>>GROW UP! If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, etc…. Ben fell for an f’ing duck…literally.
