Demi Lovato Tells Fans: Don't Worry About Being Skinny — Tell Yourself You're Beautiful

Demi Lovato continues to be an amazing to girls — and guys — everywhere. The 19-year-old singer reveals how she ‘stays strong,’ in her new MTV documentary

Demi Lovato is an A-list star, which means she feels the pressures to be skinny and pretty even more than we all do. However, the 19-year-old former Disney starlet is battling her issues and knows it’s imperative to feel confident in herself first and foremost.

“Look in the mirror and tell yourself you’re beautiful no matter what. Tell yourself to stay strong and keep going,” Demi suggests to her fans in a new interview with Teen Vogue.

In her upcoming MTV documentary, Stay Strong, Demi gives her fans a look into her life and how she’s dealing with the emotional and physical issues that landed her in treatment last year.

“Get help and be vocal about your problems,” she says. “Don’t hold anything inside, because that will only stall your recovery. A lot of girls and boys that are dealing with bullying and dealing with issues like I was dealing with are confused and they’re experimenting with different coping skills. It’s really difficult to give advice to people who don’t know what they have yet. I wish that I would have been more vocal about it earlier.”

Be sure to tune into Stay Strong on MTV Tuesday, March 6 at 10 p.m. EST.
