Directors of 'Bel Ami': Robert Pattinson Is A 'Terrifically Serious' Actor

Those that work with the handsome actor have only good things to say about him and his work ethic — check out what the directors of ‘Bel Ami’ say about Rob!

Co-directors Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod of Bel Ami tell STV that Robert Pattinson is not only a great actor, but that he related to his character, Georges Duroy, immediately.

From the get-go, when Rob met with the directors and read the script, it was “like a marriage immediately” and Rob “absolutely loved it, and really related to the character,” said Nick.

Directors Nick and Declan added how “wonderfully committed” and “terrifically serious” Rob is when he’s acting.

To their surprise, Rob insisted on rehearsing for a month before filming began in London, which Declan found, “very interesting” and “very, very unusual for somebody who has as busy a schedule as he has.” That’s commitment!

But Nick and Declan understand why R-Patz was so excited to play Georges. “This character is so fascinating to us, really, because he gets to the top with nothing, and it’s very much a parable for our time.”

We can’t wait to see Rob in Bel Ami, which releases nationwide on March 2!
