Lindsay Lohan Is 'Clean And Sober.' Did Whitney Houston's Death Inspire Her Change?

Lindsay talked drinking, acting and Whitney during a revealing ‘Today’ show interview.

Lindsay Lohan has a very important message for you, America: “I’m clean and sober!” The Just My Luck star will host Saturday Night Live this weekend, but first stopped by NBC’s Today show Feb. 29 to update us all on her success. “It’s been a while. It’s been a long time. I also have a lot of great people in my life who are in the same position.”

When Matt Lauer asked if she could still hit the party scene without being tempted to drink, she said yes — in fact, she already has — but that it didn’t feel right.

“That’s not my thing anymore,” Lindsay explained. “I went out a few months ago with a friend, and I was so uncomfortable, because it was the same thing it always was before.”

I’ve become more of a homebody, and I like that.

Matt also wasted no time going for the jugular, asking Lindsay if the death of Whitney Houston hit home for her.

“Not really,” she said, looking visibly uncomfortable. “I don’t want to go there. That’s kind of a scary, morbid thing to discuss. But maybe when I went to jail — being in that place — that was really terrifying for me.”

She did admit that drug and alcohol abuse is “a really sad factor” that’s all-too frequent in the lives of celebrities, and said that at her lowest point, “I think I was scared. I didn’t want to admit it to myself, or anyone else.”

More of Lindsay’s interview will air March 1, and we can’t wait to hear what else she has to say about her new life!
