Selena flew solo from her bf Justin at the ‘Vanity Fair’ Oscars party. We love how she’s so independent!
Selena Gomez, 19, walked the red carpet at the most exclusive Oscars party on Feb. 26 with mom Mandy Teefey — leaving bf Justin Bieber behind. And no, this did not mean trouble in paradise.
We think it’s great that Selena brought her mom along for the Vanity Fair Oscars party. Even though she’s in a serious relationship with Justin, that doesn’t mean that they have to spend every minute together. Plus, it’s important for them to focus on their careers — separately.
“Selena’s camp doesn’t want Selena to be known as ‘Justin Bieber’s Girlfriend’ rather than an actress and a singer or entertainer,” a source tells us exclusively.
We love that even though time is precious for these lovebirds because they can go weeks without seeing each other, they still make time for friends and family. That is definitely how a healthy, young relationship should be.
This will only benefit their relationship and their careers. Plus, this totally shows that Selena’s a confident and independent young woman, which is amazing!

Reminder HWL readers, and prudes that like to comment with the useless point of her not being an independent woman. Come to us when you’ve done even half of the things this lady has accomplished. I don’t even need to say or explain all her actions throughtout these years, all the readers with an actual sense of truth and sincerity have said it already. I’m uber glad she is making big moves and is being known for her own work, she always has, but these boy toy heartthrob fanatic girls are always all on each successful girls sack, it’s ridiculous, go to school, focus on your own high school and elementary drama with your darn colleagues. The only thing wrong she has ever done was the choice of men, no excuse me, BOYS, she had to be with, but other than that she never, an I repeat never needed anybody to get her work recognized, and with that I really hope Selena crushes all you haters with her damn success. Comparing her to others is absurd, she has her grown into her own flow and she knows exactly what she’s doing, confidence and the whole enchilada, and that’s a real woman! you go GIRL!
