Justin Bieber shocked fans by appearing in a taped segment at the 2012 Oscars, and host Billy Crystal says he was the perfect choice for the bit!

Justin, 17, showed up in the opening montage spoof of Midnight In Paris, assisting Billy in netting the coveted “18 to 24 demographic.”

We spoke with Billy, 63, at the Feb. 26 Oscars Governor’s Ball, and he told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that Justin was amazing to work with.

“Justin Bieber was great,” he said. “He’s a really funny guy and has a wonderful sense of humor. Now if I could only have as many Twitter fans as he does!”
