Oh no! We guess no one wanted to see the sparks fly between Jen and new beau Justin Theroux!
It wasn’t a good weekend for Jennifer Aniston. Jen’s latest movie, Wanderlust, which has her and her hubby, played by Paul Rudd, moving from New York City to a hippie commune, had a less than stellar debut at the box office, our sister site Deadline.com reports. The flick grossed just $6.6 million — good enough for only eighth place!
Despite heavy marketing, Wanderlust‘s opening weekend haul was far below studio expectations. What’s more, word of mouth has been poor, so don’t expect the raunchy R-rated comedy to rebound next weekend!
At least Jen got one good thing out of Wanderlust — her beau of nearly one year, Justin Theroux! They’ve been absolutely inseparable lately, with Justin stepping out to support his lady love as she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Feb. 22.
Did YOU see Wanderlust this weekend, HollywoodLifers? If so, what did you think?

Plan to see it when it comes to my country. Read in a few online reviews that the opening weekend earning was anticipated by the studio. Doesn’t mean it’s a bomb. In fact it looks pretty good from the trailers and has received good reviews amidst some premature bad ones. Let’s wait and see the end result.

Well of course no one wanted to see the “sparks” fly between Aniston and this guy. She’s dull as dirt – every movie she’s in bombs, and as for him – he’s just a nobody. If this were 20 years ago and involved a sitcom named Friends, then sure, people would probably tune in, but Aniston is too old and tired to still be playing the part.

No, her movies aren’t bankable, She cannot carry a movie. Those movies made money because of the very famous male stars and the dog. Research it, I think she just burnt her last flame of cred. The only four movies that made money that she did had Owen Wilson, Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler or Vince Vaughn as a co-star. Doesn’t make her the bankable star. I can’t stand her acting yet I went to Just go with it to watch the others. Not her. Don’t try to give her credit for a movie she couldn’t carry.

Why do you and other sites feel the need to single Jennifer Aniston, this film and its performance out? There are rarely articles about other star’s flops. And this film’s lead is actually Paul Rudd, who also is a producer – why isn’t it being called his flop? Jennifer’s coming off a year of two big box office hits (both opening at around $30 million), whereas Rudd’s last three films opened around or less than $7 million each. Jennifer’s doing just fine, this film flopping or not.
Also you might want to note that it opened in a reduced theater count and actually did much better when it’s per theater average is taken into account.

Oh, please those weren’t HER films. She was a co-star to Adam Sandler, who has made MANY hits on his name alone, and she was one charcter out of many in an ensemble piece. Face it, any time a movie stars Aniston as the only attraction, it tanks. She can’t open a film. She’s no Julia Roberts in her prime, or Sandra Bullock, even though she gets 10 times more attention than them. EVEN Reese Witherspoon’s movie, This Means War, did 3 times better than Aniston. Now, that’s really sad. Goes to show that she is a lot of PR hype but she’s not a big A-list actor who draws crowds.

Jennifer Aniston was one good comedic actor in an ensemble of good comedic actors on TV.
She had a phenomenal agent who enabled her movie career starring in movies that featured BIG MALE WELL ESTABLISHDE b. O. STARS (Mark Wahlberg, Jim Carrey, Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson, etc)….she got a LOT mileage off of that. These movies were going to be big with or without the female lead.
The marriage to an A-lister/dreamboat elevated her status among her TV cast and in the eyes of the world. It was not anything special about her or her work that did this.
Agent and renewed status offered her a series of movies that she had starring roles in pretty much carrying the movie.
One after another these movies flopped–some drastically.
She retreated a bit back to being an ensemble player in movies that featured many other big names—-but when publicity for these movies kicked in, it would be Jennifer Aniston who garnered all the attention.
She would be everywhere with the usual M. O.—a new hot boyfriend, relentless interviews and showing lots of naked body parts, peaking at being totally naked on and in GQ.
When those movies made good, the headlines would read: Aniston’s movie #1 (Horrible Bosses being a good case in point)
Paul Rudd may have had more lines but it has been Aniston who has been EVERYWHERE.
And once again with a new boyfriend in tow, flashing matching rings and plenty of PDA…
Showing lots of skin again and showing up on all the talk shows.
Did Paul Rudd get a star on Hollywood’s walkway or put his handprints at Chinese Theatre!!??
No it was Aniston.
She has been inadvertantly publicizing this movie for months and just as she gets credit for Horrible Bosses and Marley and Me—she is going to be credited with this new one tanking.
She must be miserable.
Her dramatic career is Dead in the water and her RomCom career looks now to be deader than Heigl’s
About time. She’s good but she is not A-list whatsoever and has been hogging roles and spotlight from far more deserving actresses for way too long now.

to commenter haley. you must be a jen hater to take this time to make such comments that are not true.I have watched most of Jennifers movies and they were all enjoyable.Jennifer is very talented. If her movie Wanderlust bombed over one weekend it is not because of anyone person’s acting. All these actors in my opinion was outstanding. It just came out on a weekend that has a lot of stiff competition.I saw the movie and I can truly say it was the funniest movie I have seen since Just go with it and horrible bosses. If you don’t view a movie because of someone elses opinion that is your lost but you have no right to an opinion. I truly recommend this movie if you like comedies.what you need to do haley is check out the gross amount of all of jennifers movies. It is in the millions. That is where it counts not base on a weekend. Now most of her so call bombs always recover overall but this time it is so many movies coming out each week that are considered stiff competition it probably wont have time to recover.I refuse to let you write those untrue remarks about Jennifer aniston. If you are a angelina fan in which I think you are and you are just commenting on jennifers blog to try to slanderize her as an actress. I am here to write the truth. Have a nice day haley. put your energy somewhere else. by all means check the record first and get your info correct before you comment.

No, all movies are rated on the opening weekend. Very few out do those results. Well, Angie’s The Tourist that only made about 12 million in the opening, still double Jens, made over 300 million later. Not a norm though. This little movie of Rudds, with Jen, is a huge flop and will remain so. Already going to overseas markets.

I was expecting to see a delightful movie because it had Jennifer Aniston in it, but instead she is no longer a fave of mine, she degraded herself in this flick. And not only that the F word brought this movie way down. And not to mention the full frontal exposure. True, he was a nudist but they didn’t have to show the full monty. I am surprised this movie made as much money as it did. If you haven’t seen this movie yet, save your money and have a pizza instead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
