Mariah Carey has been so devastated over Whitney Houston’s death that she told ‘GMA’ she can barely speak about it.
“I’m almost incapable of talking about this still,” Mariah Carey, 41, told GMA on Feb. 21.”It’s very heavy emotionally.”
Despite her shock, the eight-octave chanteuse managed to reveal she was “very moved” by Whitney Houston‘s funeral at New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, N.J., on Saturday, and that the ceremony was “gorgeous and beautiful.”
The two powerhouse singers quelled rumors of their rivalry when they sang “When You Believe” together in 1998.
“There was always this supposed rivalry in the beginning,” Mariah recalled. “Then we did the duet, and we became friends. I loved her. We all loved her. We were all inspired by her and may she rest in peace. Her legend will go on forever.”
