It’s so fitting that some of the biggest names in the industry paid their respects to this vocal icon — we loved the performances!
Whitney Houston‘s funeral was a very touching memorial, and the musical selections were appropriate for an industry legend!
Whitney, who was 48, was remembered by some of the finest voices in music at the Feb. 18 ceremony at the New Hope Baptist Church in Westfield, New Jersey,
Alicia Keys gave a beautiful, tearful speech about Whitney’s love of mentoring young singers. She then played an emotional version of her own “Send Me An Angel.”
Stevie Wonder then performed a rousing rendition of his “Love’s In Need Of Love Today,” which brought the whole congregation to their feet.
R. Kelly performed later on, delivering a very emotional version of Whitney’s classic song “I Look To You”.
Those were our favorite tunes, but there were also some other incredible gospel pieces performed, which perfectly reflected Whitney’s love of music.
Did you watch all of Whitney’s funeral, HollywoodLifers?
