Russell Brand Called Katy Perry Several Times After Her Revenge Grammy Performance

Russell Brand and Katy Perry

Katy Perry used the Grammys to debut her new revenge song against Russell Brand, “Part of Me,” and her message came through loud and clear to the one person it was directed to most.

Katy Perry got her revenge on her soon to be ex-husband, Russell Brand, by singing her heated new single, “Part of Me,” at the Grammys this year and apparently, the 36-year-old British comedian caught drift of her message to him — that he can have everything, but her.

“Russell called Katy a few times after her Grammy performance, but she just ignored his calls,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively. “She and Rihanna are planning a trip and Rihanna is trying to get her to date again.”

As we first told you, Katy and Russell’s marriage crumbled after a major fight over Christmas weekend, which led to Russell filing for divorce from the 27-year-old pop star. Despite no battles over their settlement, it’s obvious the former love birds are harboring animosity toward each other: Katy signed the divorce papers with a smiley face and then sang her rage-filled song in front of millions at the Grammys.

Do you think Russell was upset by the song or did it make him miss her? Do you think they’ll ever get back together?

Katy Perry didn’t act civil at all. They were in love together before they split. Its nt d end of d world bt wen yu start singing abuses at ur ex, its nt cool and it doesn’t leave room for friendship. Other guys are watching yu Katy and thinking yu’ll do same to them, so yu might stay on d hanger for a looong time if yu r nt careful

Considering the song has been floating around the internet for over a year and Katy just changed one line (the one about a diamond ring) to fit her situation with Russell – he has no right to be upset. Most of the song was written well before they split.

i doubt russell cares to be honest. he was probably calling about something unrelated, if this is even true. he’s already sleeping with other women so he doesn’t seem too torn up.

Who knows, maybe Russell heard that Katy was going to donate the proceeds from her song “Part of Me” to MusiCares and he was calling to thank her. I hear that Russell is a charitable guy for rehab places since a rehab in England helped to dramatically turn his life around.

I don’t really interpret “Part of Me” as being a revenge song. It’s more of an empowerment song after a breakup where she’s picking herself back up and moving on just fine without that guy in her life.

Both women and men can certainly relate to those times after a nasty breakup. It sucks for a while and then you gotta just move on and start looking for the next person to go out with.

Most of the lyrics were written by Katy about a year or so ago. The person Katy was venting her anger on could have been another boyfriend for all we know.

She did change that part of the lyrics about “So you can keep the diamond ring. It don’t mean nothing anyway.” That was a definitely about Russell and he knows it.

Choosing to be w/rihanna tells you what kind of person katy is. i guess russell wasn’t gangster enough for her. she’s looking for a chris brown cuz that’s excellent bf material.

Rihanna is the worst influence to Katy. I wish she stayed away from her. It’s obvious that Russell still loves Katy. I saw him last week at Largo (doing a stand up comedy) and he was deeply sad. He was like he was thinking of something else while he was talking to the audience. I just felt it.
