Robert Pattinson Says He's Too Old To Play Edward Cullen In Another 'Twilight' Movie

Rob says they ‘might recast’ him in a sequel. Would you see a ‘Twilight’ movie without R-Patz?

Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Bella’s (Kristen Stewart) epic love story may be timeless, but Rob says his career as Edward Cullen definitely has an expiration date. ”I’d be curious what Stephenie [Meyer] would write,” Rob said Feb. 17 at the Bel Ami photo call during the Berlin International Film Festival in Berlin. “I would think I’d be too old [for a sequel]. I’m already too old. It might be kind of interesting — they might recast me.”

Yes, you read that right. Rob officially hung up his fangs when he finished filming Breaking Dawn, Part 2, which hits theaters this November. To be fair, if Stephenie did write a sequel, Rob would be significantly older by the time the book made its way to the big screen. You can’t play a teenager forever!

I think that Rob saying he is too old to play Edward was his polite way of saying he wouldn’t do another film. He feels he is too old for the role. He is outgrowing the saga, and it’s time for him to move on. The longer he stays with Twilight, the longer it will take him to move past it and get more serious roles.

if they will recast Edward Cullen character,FORGET IT!!!,…Better if the sequel for the Twilight will focus on Jacob and Renesmee than recasting Rob…that will be unexciting you know,…BORING!!!!!!!!!!!….

They can’t recast him. I don’t think he’s too old. I mean come on! Hollywood can do wonders, look at what they did to Kristen in Part 1. It wouldn’t be the same and I believe almost always when there’s a recast the sequel turns out junk and not as effective.

I hope that with the 5th and final film, they put a disc in the dvd that has all the footage that didn’t make ALL the Twilight movies. We would all love to see that, the deleted scenes and the stuff that didn’t make the movie. That would be awesome, even if they put it as a separate disc. We would buy it.

Noway, It would never be the same seeing someone else with Bella, even if it was a recast. With all the make-up that can be done he would play the part just fine. Look at Carlise, how old is the actor and he plays a 23 year old. Edward and Bella are taking on a more mature role because they are parents now. But either cast the same people or don’t do another movie. I don’t think a TV series would work either, cause you would have to recast different actors from the the film and it wouldn’t be the same. It would Bomb!!!!
They should do another movie about Edward, Bella, Reneesme and Jacob in the future, with cameos of the other actors.

Of course he is too OLD. These actors are supposed to be portraying high school kids. Robert is already ten years too old.

Pattinson is going to be 30 years old in 5 years. It’s obvious he’s ready to break away from Twilight and expand into other acting jobs. Let the man grow as an actor. As long as he keeps playing Edward he will not be taken seriously in the industry.

first,i will watch twilight even if it is up to part 100.i believe that rob can still play the role with a real good make up.thirdly,there so many unanswered questions in the book.the book is addictive,i cant get enough of it.

I Can’t Live In A World Without Robert Pattinson not being Edward Cullen..they should’nt recast him..hes the best and only Edward people want..i think if they do recast him there might be a protest and super depressed and angry fans..just saying haha

I have been really into the Twilight saga and can’t wait to see the 5th one and hope they have a happy ending..But as to keep making them is like 5 is enough..I fell in love with all the characters and the movies have been so perfect but don’t ruin something that has gone so great..Most movies that are back to back have flubbed some where down the line and just hate to see this end that way…

i am not sure there should be a 5th book to the twilight saga, it would be nice to see were the jacob and renesma story would go and if the valtora deside to come back to check on things when she is older but what else is there

If make-up specialist were doing their job right, (but they didn’t do it right in Twilight 3 &4!) then there wouldn’t be a problem for actors to play teenagers when they’re in their 20′s. Cmon! R-Pattz doesn’t even have wrinkles on his face… And if Summit actually decides to change Edward’s actor, then please, please change whole cast! There’s no point to change one main character when everybody else will look older than they should be. Gee!

If David Boreanaz played Angel for about 8 years Rob has a couple of years to still play Edward. I think he would be more convincing than DB had us believe that he was 26 that entire time.

Team Edward and Team Jacob wouldn’t exist anymore if you change any of the leading roles. We didn’t particularly care when the actress who plays Victoria changed because she was getting killed off.

i think robert should play the role of edward .
As far as i know, people watch twilight saga just for robert pattinson and if you replaced him then for sure, there will be a very less amount of people watching twilight saga and even i will also stop watching it and i will start to hate it cause they made a decision of replacing robert .
Twilight saga have fans and its mainly because of robert pattinson
So please, my advice that don’t replace his role :)

I think that although they aren’t the best actors and actresses in the world, the twilight franchise wouldnt be what it is today without any of the main cast members , they are what make it as amazing as it is :)

It ouldnt be the same. Rob plays a good edward and if they made another with out him it woudnt be the same. I woudnt watch it if he didnt play edward.
