Ohio Parents Let Son Die Of Curable Cancer

Their 8-year-old son died of Hodgkin’s lymphoma because his parents claimed they couldn’t afford to take him to the doctor! So cruel!

Young Willie Robinson died in agony after suffering from Hodgkin’s lymphoma for two years because his parents denied him medical treatment, according to The Daily Mail. Monica Hussing, 37, and William Robinson Sr., 40, were sentenced to jail for eight years after pleading guilty to the horrible crime.

It was revealed in court that poor Willie suffered for more than two years with painful swollen neck glands that grew to the size of a softball! He begged his parents to take him to a doctor, but they refused.

Cuyahoga County Judge Michael Astrab says Willie’s emaciated body looked like a concentration camp victim! “If anybody, anybody, didn’t know this kid was sick, they are seriously, seriously disturbed,” he said.

Monica and William claim they couldn’t afford medical bills — they left a free clinic when they were told to pay $180, but they paid $87 to treat their pit bull for fleas!

As other family members noticed Willie’s heath deteriorate, they offered to help. “Twenty-nine months they had to do something, and they chose not to,” Sheila Slawinski, Monica’s sister, said. Sheila also claimed her sister would rather stay in bed and do drugs than take care of her son.

But there were so many options for the couple to help their son! Doctors told the court they would not have turned the child away from the hospital, and Hodgkin’s lymphoma is a very treatable cancer — as many as 95 percent of patients survive for five years or more with treatment.

The couple’s oldest daughter, Lillian, 18, says her brother wasn’t suffering at all. “He was the happiest kid you could imagine,” she told the court. “It never seemed like he was suffering.”

Umm NO this is all on the parents. Sorry but the healthcare system? Yea it may be screwed up but they wouldve treated him AND gotten him insurance. My brother had 0 insurance when diagnosed with Leukemia and the social worker at the hospital got him on medicaid and until they could Leukemia and Lymphoma foundation of America paid. AND he got social security. My 16yr old cousin also was diagnosed at the same time with Hodgkins Lymphoma with also no insurance. The same foundations helped and got him medicaid and he was able to also get all of his chemo PLUS all the radiation he needed and now thanx to those hospitals?…They both are in remission!!!! So sorry but it WAS the parents!

Ummm…you seem to be placing a TON of blame on the parents while NONE is being placed on the health care system. Sure doctors wouldn’t have turned him away, but the parents would have to pawn everything they own and even give up the roof over their heads to heal this child. THAT is the crime. What would be the point of keeping the boy alive to have him live on the streets when he was better?

No, it IS on the parents. There are all kinds of help, especially when it comes to children. The parents just refused to get that help. And, okay, what if they did lose their home paying his bills–at least he would be alive. There is help for the homeless, too. Do you seriously think death is better than being homeless?

This is definitely why some people should not be allowed to reproduce. They were such bad parents and such bad people that they couldn’t keep their own son alive. Now the apple doesn’t fall far from the crackhead tree with their daughter Lillian. If she’s stupid or callous enough to be able to look at her emaciated brother with his horrifically swollen neck, who was literally dying in front of her, and say he was never suffering than there’s no hope for her either. This family is everything that is wrong with the world today.

Why oh why didn’t the aunt just take him to the doctor? I would have. Why didn’t the schools report this?

That is exactly what I was thinking when reading this. It seems this poor boy’s aunt found the time to get her two cents in to the press but couldn’t manage to save her nephew’s life by simply driving him to the hospital?! I have a five year old niece and thank god my sister is a good mom but if she was anything like Monica Hussing there would be no way I’d let my niece suffer at all, let alone for two years, and die. The school system and his family failed this little boy. I’m not even going to get into how his own “parents” failed him. I mean, what losers, complete wastes of life. I hope they rot in prison and all their fellow inmates put them through even more pain they allowed their son to be in.

Very disturbing! This poor child! The daughters only saying that to protect her parents, Her parents are most likely her drug dealer. The part I dont understand Is why no one reported them to Social services? Come on people, if you suspect pick up a phone, Its the least you could do! This child suffered all the way to the bitter end. So what did they throw his body in the dump too, Because they couldnt afford it? Jeez!

This is absolutely sick. They deserve life because they basically chose to let him die. I can’t believe stories like this sometimes. RIP Willie

I’m 99% sure if I had glands the size of softballs on my neck, I’d be suffering.

wth!? they let this child who could’ve had a future and had the bestest times just die cuz they were CHEAP??!?!?!?! they deserve more time because that kid will never smile again. hope hes with god.
