Does Chris Brown make it clear that he identifies with his hero, Michael Jackson or what, in his poppy and entertaining new video? From the costumes, to the dancing, to the lighting, MJ is his spectacular inspiration.

You can watch Chris Brown’s video for his new single, Turn Up The Music, on many levels. First, his dancing is astounding ! Chris, always an amazing dancer, outdoes himself. His quick moves are awe-inspiring and he has to be the MOST athletic singer on the planet. In fact, the guy is an acrobat.

Plus his dance steps incorporate some of Michael Jackson’s most infamous moves including the crotch grab, the hat tip and more.

Secondly, his new tune is fun and danceable.

Third – watching the video is like taking a fleet-footed trip down memory lane as Brown pulls his costumes, dance moves, and scenes from infamous Jackson videos – Smooth Criminal, Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough, Bad, and, Black and White.

The fact that Michael Jackson spent much of his adult life as an “outcast,” considered a criminal by many, must be an additional source of identification for Chris, who was convicted of assaulting his girlfriend Rihanna, three years ago.

But now, he’s won a Grammy for Best R&B Album of the Year, he’s back together with Rihanna, and it looks like with this new song, he’ll have another hit on his hands.

Watch! And tell me what you think, HollywoodLifers!
