Considering Bobbi Kristina has had a reported past history of cocaine and alcohol abuse, she’s quite likely to relapse now that she’s dealing with the tragic death of her mother.
Bobbi Kristina, 18, has had an unimaginably difficult week. Not only has she lost her mother and best friend, Whitney Houston, but she’s also been hospitalized twice due to emotional duress. HollywoodLife.com asked an expert what she thinks of Bobbi Kristina’s condition and how she can get better.
Clare Waismann Kavin, an addiction specialist and administrative director of the Waismann Method (www.opiates.com), believes Bobbi Kristina is in a dire situation and says the likelihood of her relapsing into her old drug-using ways is “very high.”
“She’s a child and most of her life she’s learned how to cope with emotions with mood-altering drugs. I don’t know if she knows how to cope,” Kavin says.
So what does she believe is the best way the troubled teenager can be supported?
“With tremendous amount of love…[and] moving in with her family and being away from the entertainment world,” Kavin says. “It’s going to be a very hard transition for her. She’s had a very hard, unstable life. Parents with drug and alcohol issues have kids that act like a parent to them. She’s going through a lot of ‘What ifs.’”
