Kailyn cheats on her boyfriend with Jo, but he doesn’t want to be with her anymore. Leah and Corey’s marriage is completely finished. Jenelle’s doctor diagnoses her with bipolar disorder, and Chelsea’s back with Adam AGAIN!
The Teen Mom 2 season finale was packed full with drama! Kailyn Lowry cheated with her baby daddy, but now she has to deal with the consequences and break up with her boyfriend. Leah Messer and Corey Simms break down in tears as their marriage ends in shambles. Chelsea Houska is doing well and finally starting to get over her loser ex — until he shows up again. And Jenelle Evans makes a surprising discovery while she’s in rehab — she has bipolar disorder.
Jenelle Evans: Jenelle arrives at rehab, and they find THC (a.k.a marijuana) in her urine sample. Tsk, tsk. But Jenelle tells her therapist she wants to find ways to cope with her stress rather than smoking pot. “It’s not really a problem for me,” she says about smoking. “The only problem is I’m not allowed to smoke.” Jenelle reveals to the doctor in rehab that there’s a history of bipolar disorder in her family, and he thinks there’s a possibility she might have it, too.
Later, her therapist asks her to describe herself in three words. Jenelle says: Impulsive, Smart and Angry. I would agree with that. But then Jenelle breaks down in tears because she says she’s bored at the rehab center without internet and can’t smoke to pass the time. We start to see progress, and after two weeks, Jenelle gets her phone and internet access back. When she checks her phone, she has a message from Kieffer saying he wants to get back together, but Jenelle tells him she’s done. “Why don’t you let me focus on myself while I’m in here?” she says. Good for you, Jenelle.
In therapy, the therapist tells Jenelle that she and her mom show their love for each other by fighting. Jenelle agress, and when she video chats with her mom and Jace, she says she wants a fresh start. She’s ready to go home. But first, she meets with the doctor again. He gives her shocking news — she is bipolar, and she can’t use drugs with her new medication or there will be serious side effects. The rehab center sends Jenelle home, and she’s glad to be back.
Leah Messer: Leah filed for divorce, and the two have been living apart. Corey misses not being around the girls. Leah doesn’t want to keep Ali and Aleeah from Corey, but they have to arrange custody through the lawyers. Ironically, pictures of her wedding come in the mail as she’s telling her mom her concerns about the divorce. Looking at the happy moments with Corey, Leah breaks down in tears. Even though they’re definitely getting divorced, Leah’s still wearing her ring and not ready to take it off.
Later, she drops off the girls at the lawyers’, and she’s really emotional over being away from the twins for a night. The next day she has to go pick up the girls and get her stuff, but she’s really nervous about seeing Corey. When they finally split up their household, I’m surprised at how civil they behaved. Corey refuses to fight and lets Leah take whatever she wants. Before she leaves, they both break down in tears in separate rooms. Leah looks like she might hyperventilate. But Corey remains calm until she leaves. It’s so sad to watch him sitting in the empty house as Leah drives away. Their marriage is really over for good.
Chelsea Houska: Chelsea’s right on track studying for the GED. She’s doing well now that Adam’s out of the picture. She’s been spending time with her mom, who wants to go scope out the local dating scene at a local car show. Chelsea says she’ll go, but there’s one problem — Adam’s going to be there. She goes anyway, and sure enough, there’s Adam. Chelsea’s uncomfortable and admits to her mom she still loves him. Chelsea’s mom tries to convince her to move on.
Meanwhile, Chelsea gets her GED practice scores, and she passed! Yay! But the good news doesn’t last for long: Adam wants to comes over to pick up Aubree — or “the child” as he calls her. When he arrives, Aubree screams as he tries to grab her. Before he leaves, he asks Chelsea to come over to his house and “catch up.” Uh oh. She agrees to go, and Chelsea looks so happy around him, but WHY?!?
Kailyn Lowry: Kailyn admits to a friend that “things went too far” with Jo the other night. She says she’s going to tell Jordan the truth. When Kailyn tells Jordan, he doesn’t want to talk about it. He’s hurt and walks out with his things. Before he leaves, they get in a huge fight. Jordan says she cheated, but Kailyn says “I never said that.” Earlier in the episode, Jo told his brother they had sex, so I don’t think Jordan’s too far off with his comment.
Kailyn wonders why Jordan can’t see her side (she wants her family back together), but he tells her she has to deal with the consequences of her decision. “Hope you can live with yourself,” he says as he walks out the door. Now that her relationship with Jordan is done, Kailyn decides she wants to try again with Jo. She asks him over to talk about what happened. But surprise, surprise, Jo doesn’t want a girlfriend. Now Kailyn’s lost both guys and ends up alone at the end of the episode.
