In celebration of Walmart and Target’s Feb. 11 DVD release of ‘Breaking Dawn: Part 1,’ Twi-hards across the nation stood eagerly in line to get their grubby hands on a copy of their favorite vampires — and HollywoodLife.com got a first-hand look at the action in New York!
Considering there aren’t any Walmarts or Targets in Manhattan (think: cramped quarters), we trekked out to a Walmart in Middleton, NY, to catch the Twilight release party fête!
From what our eyeballs could see, there were about 100 people in line when the doors opened at the stroke of midnight — and we even saw a few Volturi look-alikes hanging around!
Silver and black balloons aside, the electronics department lit up the store with every flatscreen playing Breaking Dawn: Part 1, and there was even a gift giveaway with Twilight paraphernalia!
It was a blood-sucking blast, and thankfully, we managed to snag our own copy!

Was very excited to go to the Walmart “Breaking Dawn” Release party and was very, very, very disappointed. My Walmart did nothing. Walmart promted a Party, Giveaways, Prizes and Cake all we received was a cupcake that’s it. My Sister lives in Loveland, CO and took 6 kids “her 2 kids and 4 friends” for the Breaking Dawn party and they did nothing!! I think Walmart False Advertised this party because Target was having a Midnight Party as well so they promoted something and didn’t follow through. Very Disappointed and when Part 2 comes out I will probably go somewhere else.
