M.I.A. – You Tried to Steal Madonna's Thunder With Your Middle Finger

M.I.A. – your middle finger needed to be MIA during the Super Bowl halftime show!

Just who do you think you are MIA?  And why did you think it was cool to give the finger to Americans watching the Super Bowl halftime show?

It’s not cool — it’s rude. And in the context of where you were and what you were doing — in front of 111.3 million people — it was just plain disrespectful.

Disrespectful to the audience watching the show — including many children — and disrespectful to Madonna, 53, whose thunder it appeared you were trying to steal!

You were so fortunate to have been asked by Madonna to be featured in her new hit single, “Give Me All Your Luvin,” and then to appear in her Super Bowl performance.

Now, I know that you gave the finger in the official video for the song with Madonna, and I guess she was cool with that. But that was one finger that should have been omitted from the live Super Bowl appearance.

You may be a star on the rise, but this finger episode just makes you look like an attention-hog, not a hot talent!

So it is OK to see David Beckham in his underwear but not ok to flip the bird?

Sarah says…Bonnie, you’re an idiot.

Seriously, is the middle finger a big deal any more? Oooo she put up her middle finger, really now, are you five? I doubt the middle finger offends anyone these days unless it is directed towards you personally.

I was offended to see an old 60 year old blonde chick still thinking she should wear a bikini on live TV.

I wasnt offended by MIA’s middle finger. I dont care of there were children there…nobody stopped the amount of beer that was served “because kids are there”. Not to mention all the cussing and drunk profanity that usually goes along with an event like this. People need to stop! SMH

What offended me was Ce Lo Green dressed in that drapery. I think America needs the finger shown to it a lot more often. But we need less drapery on short fat guys.

Yeah. It’s not because she said “F you” to 111.3 million people. It’s because she’s Indian. I bet you’re Indian, too, and you feel terrible about it, don’t you?

I like how it had to be played in slow motion in the video. I didn’t even notice it the first time. Seems like people need to get over and go back to blaming Modern Family for kids saying fudge.

Super Bowl Sunday is a family event, with many children watching. Those of you that didn’t find it offensive are very likely very offensive, yet have no clue of that.

I suggest you do not let your children watch television then, because pretty much everything on there is offensive these days. Besides, if you’re a parent then you should be prepared to explain these little “incidents” to your kiddies. You can now say the B word on many shows, and I’m not saying that’s great, but we have to live with it.

Can you add “lame” as one of the options? If this was 1950, the middle finger might be cool, but it’s 2012 and everyone from toddlers to grannies flip the bird.

Only when they’re gross – same as other people. The article is simply a comment on inappropriate behavior – why make skin color an issue here?

Get off the internet little girl. Only an immature little brat would write a racist comment (that has no place here really), and write in caps locks to boot.
