When Michelle Williams is terrified about approaching a role, she only has to look at how her daughter gets ready for the playground for inspiration.

Michelle Williams made an appearance on Live! with Kelly Feb. 2, to talk about the Oscar buzz surrounding her movie My Week with Marilyn; when Kelly Ripa asked about her Golden Globes speech where she tearfully thanked her six-year old daughter Matilda Ledger.

“When you find yourself in that very fortune position, where you might be able to thank people, the first person was my daughter,” Michelle explained.

She also gushed about how her little girl’s bravery while on the playground has inspired her.

“Every day she goes to the playground, she returns covered in cuts and bruises, and the next day she re-approaches that playground” said Michelle. “I think about how can I not be brave in my work? How can I not take risks?”
