The Carter family is ‘deeply saddened’ over Leslie’s sudden passing and she leaves behind her 10-month-old daughter Alyssa and husband of three years, Mike Ashton.
Though few details are known at the moment, Leslie Carter — the 25-year-old sister of pop stars Nick and Aaron Carter — died Jan. 31 in Upstate New York. In a statement to Access Hollywood, the Carters said, “Our family is grieving right now and it’s a private matter. We were deeply saddened for the loss of our beloved sister, daughter, and granddaughter, Leslie Carter.”
Also a singer like her brothers, Leslie was married to Mike Ashton, the guitarist in her band The Other Half. They were married in 2008 and had a 10-month-old daughter named Alyssa Jane Ashton.
Alyssa’s Twitter handle was titled MomAshton and her about me says: “I’m Leslie, I love being a new mom to our wonderful baby girl Alyssa Ashton, and I have a wonderful husband who takes care of his girls. I couldn’t ask for more.”
Leslie appeared alongside her family on the short-lived E! reality series House of Carters, which ran for eight episodes in late 2006.
