Simon says although he fired Paula Abdul, they’re going to work together on a new project in the ‘near future’ — could it be a new show?

Simon Cowell turned X Factor upside down on Jan. 30 by firing judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger along with the show’s host Steve Jones. But he says in a new statement that Paula is a “close friend.” Why do you think he gave them all the boot?

“I want to say a massive thank you to Paula, Nicole and Steve for being part of the X Factor last year,” he went on to say. “You do develop friendships with the people you work with and Paula, in particular, is a very close friend and I expect to be working with her on another project in the near future.”

Do you think this means another competition reality show or perhaps even a scripted show? We can’t wait for these two to collaborate again because we love their on screen chemistry!
