Sources tell HollywoodLife.com that producers are hoping these women will bring ‘originality’ to the show and end all ‘Idol’ comparisons.

With three of The X Factor‘s major players — Nicole Scherzinger, Paula Abdul and Steve Jones — not returning next season, it’s time to call in the replacements! Several sources close to production tell HollywoodLife.com that Mariah Carey and Fergie are the frontrunners to fill Nicole and Paula’s now-vacant judge seats, while Victoria Beckham is being eyed as a potential host to replace Steve.

Simon Cowell wants to add some newness and originality to the show,” one source tells us. “[Simon] felt that Paula was replaceable because her groups didn’t succeed and [he] didn’t want the Idol comparisons to continue.”

As for replacing the show’s host, the producers have decided to go in a completely different direction — a female one!

“Victoria Beckham’s name has been thrown around, but again, the host gig is far from being picked,” a second source adds. “They are focusing on the judges first.”

We think any of those ladies would be great on The X Factor! Who do YOU think should fill the judge and host spots?
