We all know the Evil Queen (Lana Parrilla) is a father-killing, curse-casting psychopath — but how did she get that way? The Jan. 29 episode of Once Upon A Time aims to answer that question with a look back at the queen’s life before things went awry.

In this preview video from this week’s episode, we see a surprisingly tame queen looking on as Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) receives endless from praise from her father — the queen’s new husband.
