A young fan’s tweet to Justin prompted him to spread the word about becoming an organ donor.

Justin Bieber is such an amazing person! After hearing from a sick fan, he encouraged everyone following him on his Twitter to become an organ donor!

“Hey @justinbieber! I BELIEB you should use that Canadian voice of yours and help save lives like mine,” Helene Campbell, 20, tweeted on Jan. 19.

Two days later, Justin responded. He hash-tagged his first tweet with “Be An Organ Donor.” His next tweet was a personal message to Helene, “@alungstory NEVER SAY NEVER.”

Helene, who is in need of her own lung transplant, appreciated his small contribution. “@justinbieber you have made a huge impact, not only on my life, but for many others in need of the gift of life now and in the future!” Helene tweeted.

Donations for the Ontario-based Trillium Gift of Life Network went up more than 1,200 people in the days thanks to the pop star’s tweets and Helene’s campaign, MTV News reports.

“On an average day we would expect about 50 new online registrations,” President and CEO Ronnie Gavsie said in a statement on Wednesday (January 25). “Since Helene’s campaign began last Thursday, the average has been closer to 200 per day!

It’s great how Justin takes time out of his busy schedule to respond to his fans. His short tweets will lead to many more people receiving the life-saving treatments they need.
