If you thought Selena Gomez was taking a break from acting think again, Deadline.com has the exclusive scoop on a new movie that she’ll star in — and it sounds really cool!
Selena Gomez is making big moves in Hollywood. Our sister site Deadline.com reports that Selena’s production company July Moon has optioned the Jandy Nelson novel The Sky is Everywhere and Selena will actually help turn the book into a film!
Selena will play 17-year-old Lennie Walker, a band geek and total book worm! Lennie’s hobbies include playing the clarinet and living in the shadow of her older sister Bailey. We’re sure a lot of girls can totally relate to that!
But Lennie’s life is turned upside down when her older sister suddenly dies and Selena’s character is left to take care of their family, friends and the boyfriend Bailey left behind.
This sounds like the perfect role for the 19-year-old. She just wrapped her role as Alex Russo on the hit Disney show Wizards of Waverly Place, the hit show which ran for four years. And even though many thought Selena would focus on her music career with her band,Selena Gomez and the Scene, it looks like it’s back to the silver screen for Selena!
Selena will be finished with her We Own The Night Tour on Feb. 11 — she’s been touring all over Latin America, and then she’ll be free to concentrate on her acting. But even though she’s just been gone from LA for a few days, her boyfriend Justin Bieber already visited her for her San Juan, Puerto Rico concert! Awww!
