Daniel Radcliffe: 'Harry Potter' Is Better Than 'Twilight'

Daniel reveals why he’s surprised ‘Twilight’ became so successful and drops a major bomb when asked if he and Robert Pattinson are friends!

Daniel Radcliffe doesn’t hold back when asked his thoughts on Twilight. The Harry Potter star appeared on The Jonathan Ross Show on Jan. 21 and started a major Harry Potter/Twilight war — whose side are you on?

“Oh yes, with no question,” when asked if Harry Potter could destroy the vampires in Twilight. Daniel went on to say that he and Rob aren’t friends!

“We have a very strange relationship now since we only communicate through journalists,” he says. “We haven’t seen each other in ages, everyone assumes we are great mates. But I’ve met him, he’s a lovely guy.”

It doesn’t sounds like these two are grabbing beers at the pub like we thought!

Of course he’ll said HP is better than Twilight, because he starred in it. For example, Robert will think Twilight is better than HP too for the same reason and same as the fans like us. Stop fighting anyway.

I’m an Twihard and I don’t hate Harry Potter.
These both movie have a totally different story-line and so why do the movie-fans fight for actually?
Twilight is Twilight, and Harry Potter is Harry Potter.

Twilight is love story with lead characters having cute and adorable chemistry. There is instant magic with Rob and Kristen! Harry Potter is fantasy movie primarily for the kids. Daniel Radcliffe captured the heart of the audience when he was still a kid. But on the latter version of Harry Potter, I switched watching Twilight. I think I prefer watching Rob and Kristen than the lead characters in Harry Potter. Radcliffe had stunted growth (shorty!) and there’s no chemistry in the love scence!

Besides both being franchises, i dont think you can compare them and this is coming from a fan of both movies. HP is aimed at younger kids and the fanbase generally tends to be young kids and a few adults. Wheras Twilight is for teens and the fanbase is full of fans over twenty. Dan wasnt dissing Twilight, he was being loyal to his film. Both films are great.

HP fanbase isn’t generally young kids and a few adults, fyi. There isn’t one age group that has a majority because the ages of the fans are so spread out. The older generation that grew up with the books are all over 20 and there are tons of kids I know of who are getting into Harry Potter now too. Plus all the older people who started liking Harry Potter when it originally came out because their kids were getting into it. Twilight on the other hand is mostly teenage girls, or people who act like teenage girls

Well, technically, Daniel is dissing Twilight’s vampires, and he’d be right either way. Stephenie Meyer’s vampires can, well, hop from tree to tree, they’re really fast and really strong and they can read minds. Wizards and Witches in Harry Potter have the ability to kill, torture, hypnotize (sort of), vanish instantly, etc… A wizard could kill a vampire with one simple spell-LUMOS SOLEM-That spell gives out a spark of sunshine. DEAD VAMPIRE! Or at least a sparkly vampire.

Can’t diss your own movie? Have you read some of the things Robert Pattinson has said about Twilight? He sure has no problem dissing his own movie. He’s even said that he was killed off in the only good series he was in( he was killed off in HP btw). Sounds like dissing your own movie to me.

I am a huge twilight fan, maybe not as big as many others but still a huge fan. Daniel meant nothing by what he said, just purely loyal to harry potter, like every twilight star is to twilight. HP and Twilight are both amazing films .

Robert Pattinson isn’t ‘purely loyal’ to Twilight. You should look at some of the things he’s said about Edward, Stephenie Meyer, and the series in general. Then again if I was a part of the Twilight movies I’d be pretty ashamed of myself too.
