The legendary Penn State football coach — who was recently involved in a major scandal — suffered from lung cancer. So sad.
Joe Paterno, beloved former Penn State University football coach, has passed away.
Joe, who was 85, passed away on Jan. 22 due to complications from lung cancer, his family tells TMZ.
Joe coached at Penn State for 46 years. He was fired in Nov. 2011 after sexual abuse allegations involving his former assistant coach, Jerry Sandusky, came to light.
We wish his family the best during this difficult time.

Did you hear that they are going to turn the Joe Paterno statue 180 degrees so that he can look the other way?
