Desperate Housewives — Season 8 Episode 12 — RECAP – Hollywood Life

'Desperate Housewives' Recap: Are The Ladies' Murder Troubles Really Over?

Plus, Bree embraces her bad side -- and I like it! While I will never retract my previous statements about Susan (Teri Hatcher) being the dumbest housewife on Wisteria Lane, I will say she got really lucky on the Jan. 22 episode of Desperate Housewives. Alejandro's wife Claudia (Justina Machado) showed up on Susan's doorstep this week demanding answers, and when Susan's big mouth got her even deeper in the hole, Gaby (Eva Longoria) decided to reveal the truth. All of it.

And thanks to Claudia’s daughter coming forward with her own molestation story, Claudia won’t be looking for Alejandro/Ramon anymore. Of course, it should also be pointed out that she now knows her husband was killed in Gaby’s house! She spotted the “red wine” stain on the living room floor and told Gaby it would be a good idea to “get rid of it.” The question is: Will she really keep the big secret to herself?

Meanwhile, bad Bree (Marcia Cross) was in full swing this week — and I loved every minute of it. While I’ll admit I’m not happy to see her hitting the bottle again, it was super entertaining watching her slut it up all over town. The climax, of course, was when the wife of one of her one-night stands confronted her at the church bakery, and much to my pleasant surprise, she decided to own her raunchy new reputation.

And it turns out Ben (Charles Mesure) actually has a real human heart underneath his cartoon-villain mustache! He quickly retracted his proposal Rene (Vanessa Williams), admitting he was only in it for the money. I was expecting her to slap the accent right out of him, but I suppose breaking a vase will suffice.

So what do you think of the latest developments on Wisteria Lane? Are the wives really out of the woods (pun intended), or will Alejandro’s murder still haunt them? And will Bree’s loose lifestyle lead to trouble, or is it all in good fun? See you in the comments section!
