Demi Lovato Reveals: I Only Have Four True Friends

Demi admits she was surprised by how few of her friends reached out after her trip to rehab. She’s so strong!

Demi Lovato, 19, said that she really learned who her true friends are after spending time in a Chicago treatment facility.

“After I got out of treatment, I turned on my phone, and there were only four text messages,” she said in US Weekly. “I was like, ‘Wow!’”

We’re betting BFFs Selena Gomez, 19, and maybe Kim Kardashian were two out of the four who texted her.

We can’t imagine what those days must have been like for Demi, but we’re glad she realized who really matters in life. Plus, it’s about quality — not quantity, Demi.

Demi, I think that you found out who are your friends & who really loves you. Who will be there for you when you really need them.
If I could I would call everyone who makes it through rehab. Just to let them know there is someone there in their corner. Remember the ones who didn’t call may have their own demons to battle with & may not know how to support others. Donna J.

I agree with James. But I just really want to know where you got that quote from. I’m pretty sure I have never seen a article showing her say that.

Yes she has said she did drink or experiment with drugs when she was struggling with her other problems but she has said in a article with seventeen magazine and I quote “I’m not going to lie,” Demi says. “I was self-medicating. I was doing things like drinking and using [drugs], like a lot of teens do to numb their pain.” “I don’t drink, I don’t do drugs, I don’t throw up after my meals, I don’t starve myself,” says Demi. There’s nothing that I do that I feel ashamed of.”

She also said this about Selena “”There are two people that no matter how many times we fight, we will always be in each other’s lives. [Miley Cyrus and I] are strong-headed. Selena [Gomez] and I, we never fight.”"

So I don’t know where your quote is from or if you are just making it up from your own memory but that is what she has said recently.

But Demi is a huge philanthropist. She has jeans for teens, love is louder, the jed foundation, she helped with clear & clear, she took a picture for when Japan was in need of help telling people to help & she donated money to Japan, she is always fighting for people when it comes to eating disorders I mean she got Disney to remove episodes that made jokes about them. So don’t say she isn’t a philanthropist because she helps out in her own way.

You may not like Demi and really that is fine. But people should at least show some respect for someone. I don’t like everyone in the world but I don’t go around sending hate. No on deserves hate. Treat others how you want to be treated.
