After Shailene’s makeup artist prepped the star for the 2012 Golden Globe awards, she reveals what makeup she used, how long it took and her secrets to making the makeup last all night!

Celebrity makeup artist Gloria Noto got Golden Globe nominee Shailene Woodley ready for the big event. Here’s what she had to say about the behind-the-scenes prep.

What was your inspiration for Shailene’s makeup at the Golden Globes?
“My inspiration was a mix between Shailene’s features and her dress. Everything revolves around the gown so that was a key to my thought process. But I also wanted her to look effortless and cool.”

How would you describe the color palette of the look?
“The color palette is based around cool tones of grey to compliment her dress. I would say these color choices still stay earthy but with a bit of sexy glam.”

How did you prep Shailene’s face so that her makeup would last through the long event?
“I used Biore’s new Combination Skin Balancing Cleanser. It’s great because it cleans and balances skin, treating oily areas without stripping away moisture. Next, I used a rose water spritz to give her face a clean and hydrated start, in addition to drinking lots of natural spring water. Beauty does start from the inside after all!”

What were some of the key products that you used and why are they so important to the overall look?
1. “Biore Combination Skin Balancing Cleanser. You must start with a clean canvas for any makeup look and this formula cleanses without stripping skin of moisture.”
2. “Chanel mystic eye quad because that has all of my eye colors.”
3. “Chanel lip color in Destinee, this additionly helped bring life into the look since we did not add a cheek color.”

How long did it take you to apply Shailene’s makeup from start to finish?
“Since the look is pretty effortless, it takes me about 30 minutes.”
