Plus, Candice Accola tells us how she really feels about a possible Stefan/Caroline hookup…
It’s Caroline’s (Candice Accola) 18th birthday on the Jan. 12 episode of The Vampire Diaries, and I’m really hoping her big wish is to stay alive, because she’ll need all the protection she can get from Klaus (Joseph Morgan). “Caroline and Klaus haven’t really had any interaction up to this point, but their paths will finally cross,” Candice tells HollywoodLife.com of Caroline’s big day. “He sired her boyfriend, and she’s pissed. But you can’t really get pissed at Klaus because he’s got the power to kill anyone and everyone.” (Gulp!)
Speaking of Caroline’s hybrid boyfriend Tyler (Michael Trevino), Candice promises that by the end of this next episode, “we will have a clearer idea of how strong their relationship is, and if we think it’ll be able to sustain the sire bond or not.”
(Side note: the word “sired” makes me super uncomfortable, and Candice agrees that “it’s a weird word” to say.)
And what kind of vampire journalist would I be if I didn’t ask Candice about the ever-mounting fan base that pushing Caroline and Stefan (Paul Wesley) together? Here are her unfiltered thoughts on that subject:
“I’m starting to pick up on that,” she says of “Staroline” fandom. “I absolutely adore all the Caroline/Stefan scenes. I think their banter together is really funny, and it does have such a cadence to it that’s very intriguing. But Stefan is very involved in his ultimate goal right now, which is to take down Klaus, and Caroline really isn’t a frontrunner with being able to do that. They haven’t crossed paths a lot this season, and I don’t see what would bring them together. As the seasons go on, if Caroline were to survive, we shall see…”
You know what? As one who’s always seen a spark between Stefan and Caroline ever since she became a vampire, I’ll settle for a “we shall see.” It’s not a “no!”

This reporter fail to remember that Stefan is involed in a love triangle with Damon and Elena. What a silly question to ask when you know the show is based around that. Fans give Tyler a break! You all gave Damon plenty of breaks with no excuses for his behavior and you forgave Stefan and his mistakes as well. At least Tyler’s got a reason for whats happening to him. He’s been sired! I some times think people aren’t watching the same show I’m watching! But in the end a lot of spoilers point to Tyler and Caroline getting back together again! Also go to the TVfanatic Forum were you’ll see the Forwood thread is the most popular one and the Steroline thread only has two people on it! lol
