Angry parents accused Beyonce’s security of keeping them from seeing their sick babies — so now the head of Lenox Hill Hospital says he’s launching an investigation!
Beyonce and Jay-Z’s hospital lockdown for the birth of baby Blue Ivy Carter enraged other parents who felt like they were treated as second-class citizens. Executive Director Frank Danza told the NY Daily News that he’s seeking answers for the mama drama. “The internal investigation was prompted by my own viewing of the news stories, which had indicated there were more parents, and those parents were in communication and had concerns,” he explained.
Frank defended the need for special measures for Blue’s arrival, but he admitted the staff went to extremes — including taping over security cameras and hiring a slew of extra guards!
The director has interviewed dozens of parents, and he says none reported being stopped from seeing their newborns.
“They did communicate that they noticed some enhanced security, but they never felt restricted access to the neonatal unit or any other unit,” he said.
Frank also denied the report that they spent $1.3 million to rent out an entire floor. Rather, the superstars booked several “executive suites” at the standard rate of $800 per night. Franks also says Jay-Z didn’t pay for complete renovations.
