Katy Perry tweeted today she’ll no longer be attending the People’s Choic Awards in Los Angeles Jan. 11. Too bad!
Going through a divorce is painful, so the last thing Katy Perry probably wants to do is go through a string of interviews asking how she’s doing following her split from Russell Brand. The typically bubbly and cheerful 27-year-old singer tweeted she decided to cancel her first public appearance since the news broke.
“Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the People’s Choice Awards. I want to thank u all for voting for me, fingers crossed! #KATYCATS,” Katy — who is nominated for seven awards — wrote Jan. 9.
She also took to Twitter last weekend to clear up any rumors swirling around her current relationship status.
“Concerning the gossip, I want to be clear that NO ONE speaks for me. Not a blog, magazine, ‘close sources’ or my family,” she wrote.
We understand why Katy needs more time to heal, but she’s still scheduled to perform two concerts in Indonesia Jan. 19 and 22.
