Ryan probably won’t lock in another huge salary to host ‘American Idol,’ a show insider reveals.
Ryan Seacrest may lose his gig as host of American Idol. Ryan signed a 3-year, $45 million contract with Fox starting in 2009 — and now that contract is up for renegotiation. An insider reveals to The Hollywood Reporter that since the show survived after Simon Cowell left, Ryan might not be needed if it costs them too much money.
“There’s no way Fremantle and CKx will continue to pay Ryan that kind of money when he can be replaced for $2 million to $3 million,” the insider reveals. Fox, FremantleMedia and CKx are all involved in producing American Idol and in negotiating Ryan’s new contract.
As of 2011, Ryan’s main ally Simon Fuller, who created Idol, is no longer involved with the negotiations and won’t be able to pull strings for Ryan this time around.
Ryan’s NBC contract is also up for renegotiation — and another source claims to THR that NBC wants Ryan to switch to their music show The Voice — and possibly have some involvement in the Today show. “NBC would love to get Ryan out of Idol because they have The Voice,” shares the source. “Ryan is using it to renegotiate his deals.”
To add to Ryan’s leverage, he has $60 million radio contract with Clear Channel.
“It’s in Ryan’s best interest to make them sweat,” the Idol insider says of Ryan’s renegotiations for his hosting gig. “The company has new people running it and has to play the game.”

I like Ryan Seacrest for this. I think he is perfect for it and Doogie Houser taking his place doesn’t seem fitting. I don’t think Doogie Houser is even a singer and Ryan at least auditioned for American Idol. I think Ryan gets into the role best. I may not like Ryan in some of the other tabloid programs, but for Idol, I think he does a great job. I think all of these people charging the kind of money they are charging is kind of ridiculous to begin with. I also think that charging money for their performances is kind of a silly. They should just put up their actual TV performances to view on the internet and be done with it. One thing I have noticed when comparing the show to others, is that there seems to be a lot more sophistication in the people that come from other countries. There was a 15 homeless kid from Korea in another talent show that simply mind blowing.

If Ryan leaves AI I and many others that I have talked to
Will Leave with him some peoples talent just can’t be
Replaced just ask America or better yet just do it and
See for yourself but keep this in mind, when you give
Ryan the boot his price will certainly go up that’s even
If he would go back its just good business
