Find out why Ben’s former ‘Bachelorette’ competitor Ames thinks that Nicki is a winning match.

Ben Flajnik‘s former Bachelorette competitor and friend Ames Brown has some advice for the new Bachelor. Ames thinks Nicki Sterling is a great girl because she is real about her past, Ames reveals in a new video blog for Warner Bros’ Bachelor fan site.

“There were a lot of great back stories among the women,” Ames says. “My favorite was Nicki’s because she seemed to really have a grasp of her past. I think it’s important to sort of know who you are before you’re ready to commit and make a serious decision like who to marry.”

Ames also loves what Bachelor fans got to learn about Ben during the premiere episode on Jan. 2. “I think you learn the most about somebody when they’re under pressure or they’re faced with the unexpected,” he explains. “I think we learned about Ben’s true nature. He’s a warm gentleman. He was really welcoming. We got a real insight into who he is. That is somebody who is really kind and is going to make some woman very happy.”

Ames also shares a bit of advice with Ben. “I think it’s important to remember that marriage is forever,” he reminds. “It’s really important that the person you decide to spend the rest of your life with has great conversations with you.”

While Ames may like Nicki for sharing her story about getting divorced with the cameras, he forgets that Nicki didn’t relay that story to Ben. Ben has no clue yet that she’s divorced.
