Russell revealed last year that he and Katy did not have a prenup and that means he could take up to half of her $44 million dollar fortune — do you think that’s fair?
Russell Brand could become a very rich man. A shocking new report claims that Russell and Katy Perry did not have a prenuptial agreement, which means he could potentially be entitled to half or even more of his soon-to-be ex-wife’s fortune!
Although Katy and Russell were married in a lavish ceremony in India in 2010, they were also married in California. The state of California is a community property state, which means that couples must split their earnings down the middle — 50/50.
Forbes reports that Katy is worth $44 million, and Russell is reportedly worth around $15 million, meaning he could take over $20 million of her fortune.
HollywoodLife.com told you that although reports claim Russell and Katy had been fighting for months, Katy did not want to give up on the marriage. We also told you that Katy is leaning on her best friend Rihanna during the devastating split and a source tells The Sun that Russell shockingly didn’t approve of his wife’s friendship with the singer. Why? Because their hard partying ways together was difficult for the former heroin and sex addict.
Russell also reportedly wanted children with Katy while she wanted to wait until her career settled down.
“I’m doing good,” Russell told the London’s Daily Star over the weekend. “Everything is going to be better next year.”

Why would you think it is unfair? For decades we have seen women repeatedly being handed fortunes earned by men, and no one bothered asking “is it fair?” then.. it was only men losing out on their hard-earned money. Now a useless ‘popstar’ female stands to be treated as an equal by losing money in a divorce, and you suddenly worry about it being fair?
