Even as model Lauren Scruggs recovers from her near-fatal run-in with an airplane propellor, she’s only thinking of other people. In the latest update from Lauren’s family on her official CaringBridge page, mom Cheryl Scruggs writes that she’s constantly impressed by “Lo’s sweet spirit.”
“Dad, mom, what can can I do to make things easier on you?” Lauren has asked her parents.
Can you believe that even in the midst of all her pain, Lauren is worried about being a burden on her family?
Cheryl also shares that Lauren has been “continually calling upon the Lord. In her pain, she asks Jesus to ‘take away the pain. She takes deep breaths, and closes her eyes. … She’s praying.”

i wish soldiers would get as much attention as she does. Most of the time, severley injured soldiers–just as bad or even worse than Lauren’s—return home without even being mentioned by the media. A sad day we live in.

It is true that this young lady is getting tons of media attention. No one can deny this. There are far worse tragedies that never get mentioned. I wonder if Lauren were black or asian if the media would even bother. Something to think about. When she does heal and all the pain is gone, perhaps Lauren can tell all of us exactly what happened and what state of mind she was in to just walk into a propeller. Was it an accident? Or was she trying to take her own life and it backfired on her? Only Lauren could tell us all the truth or will she just cop out? It just doesn’t add up. How does someone walk into a propeller? The strong wind and noise would warn even a young boy or girl to get away. I have just never heard of this happening anywhere. Not like that. Not even Helen Keller would do that.
