Even though reports claim Katy Perry wanted Russell Brand to file for divorce for religious reasons, a source tells HollywoodLife.com that Katy didn’t want the divorce!
Katy Perry can’t believe that her marriage to Russell Brand is over! A source close to the singer tells HollywoodLife.com that Katy, 27, is “absolutely devastated” that her marriage didn’t work out and she still loves Russell.
“Katy still can’t believe that it’s over,” a source tells us. “She knew things were bad but she figured they’d work through it. Katy has been going through a bunch of emotions and she’s really leaning on her friends right now. She’s not herself.”
Russell, 36, filed for divorce on Dec. 30 after HollywoodLife.com told you that things between the couple were rocky. Katy was vacationing in Hawaii and Russell in his native England when the news of the split broke.
Other reports claim things between Katy and Russell have been rocky for months and that she wanted him to file for divorce as not to upset her very religious parents.
“Katy never thought in a million years that she would get divorced, she really planned to spend her life with Russell,” our source continues. “She is grieving her marriage and is at a point in her life where she doesn’t know what’s next.”
Katy and Russell met in 2008 and were married in October 2010 in a gorgeous ceremony in India.

She didn’t deserve this! PeoPle really need to stop being hostile saying she did and that it was her fault when clearly it wasn’t. They had marital issues like everyone else but it didn’t work out “according to Russell Brand”, he could have tried to make things work between him and his wife, that was so selfish and low! She did love him regardless of how ugly he is and egotistical! Her heart is broken into peices behind this. I hope the best for you Ms. Katy, keep your head up mama! xoxox

She took off her ring, it didn’t fall off. What is the devastation over? That he filed first?
I liked the couple, but I wasn’t sure it would last and not because it happened so quickly. Katy either didn’t do her homework or chose to go her own way, as in she married a former addict and still chose to keep partying–knowing that’s an atmosphere that’s hazardous to his sobriety. Not to mention it could be torture to be around things you once enjoyed but can no longer have. She didn’t think the idea of marriage to him through if she thought she could still party hard. Hope they both do better the next time around.

I like them both and I am sad. Probably the fact that she is young and enjoys going out had something to do with the divorce. You can’t blame her. SHe is young. Russel is a recovered alcoholic and it is not easy to live with someone like that no matter how much you love the person. They are a ticking time bomb and the other person has to walk on shells. Not easy at all. I hope they each find what they are looking for.

What the hell are YOU talking about?? She is a very faithful woman and if I recall right “Russell Brand” was the one going around sleeping with anything that had legs! He was the sexaholic and alcoholic Not Her! Put the blame where it needs to be, and if she was the one running around WHY did he get a “new” girlfriend so fast?! It’s because he was cheating on her the whole while! He’s ugly anyway with a nasty personality to match it, I don’t know why Ms. Katy even waisted her precious time in the first place!

Katy won’t have to worry about finding a new guy. I bet she should could at least get a date with just about any single guy out there if she wanted to. She’s smokin’ hot, talented and she has a great personality.
Her next boyfriend or husband is going to be a very lucky dude. She just needs to find “the one” that’s right for her like in her song “The One That Got Away”.

The woman is fake, shallow, and her music is dire. Her rise in popularity had everything to do with the Russell factor. The man is for real; he needs an authentic woman without pink hair who has grown up some and who isn’t a religious fundamentalist who cannot think for herself.

Judging from your opinion on Katy’s “rise in popularity” I can tell you are definitely not from the United States. I’m sure in European countries Katy had a rather substantial rise in popularity after her marriage to Russell; however, that is not the case in the United States. I understand your anger over this pop cultural news, but I think it might be best to base your opinions the cold hard facts, rather than make crude comments over tabloid speculation and opinion. For we don’t truly know what happened until both parties say something about it and we don’t know what they need because we don’t know them.
I admit this whole divorce drama is rather interesting and I found your comment quite entertaining. Ignorance and bias aside, thank you helping me gain insight about your cultural perspective.

Did you write that response for another or simply to impress yourself with one or two uses of correct sentence structure? In truth, Russell was much more famous in Europe than Katy was when their relationship first began; ergo he helped her career there. In the US, I agree that although Russell was known, it was Katy who held the most media attention.

Actors and any type of entertainers are fake and they do not believe in the vows. If you look at statistic they divorce or break up with someone and the next day, week, or month they are with someone else. They are actors and they play their role well for as long as they have too. It takes years to get over a relationship and jump into another not days, weeks or months. Example: Eva Longoria, Jennifer Lopez, Ashton Kutcher and many more in the industry.

Katy took off her ring just like Russell did which meant she was through with the marriage too. IMO she is not devastated about the divorce and all the gut wrenching PR(“She is grieving her marriage and is at a point in her life where she doesn’t know what’s next.”)is a bunch of BS to get sympathy from her fans and/or her family.

What woman do you know who’s an atheist. I don’t know any. Women bring life. How can you be a Nihilist and do that? If her husband really understood being one, he would see that. That’s the light you see there Russell, Stupid man.
