Katy Perry and Russell Brand are ending their marriage, but it turns out Katy had SERIOUS reservations about tearing apart the union!

Russell, 36, filed for divorce on Dec. 30 after rumors of intense fighting with Katy, 27. But TMZ reports that because of Katy’s religious background, she was super-hesitant to go against her nuptials.

Katy apparently didn’t want to rock the boat with her parents, who have strong Christian beliefs and would have been angry if the singer had filed for divorce herself. That said, she was totally on board with splitting up with Russell — he drove her crazy!
