Although she had a few bumps in the road in 2011, Miley beat her buddy Justin Bieber with 36.68% of the vote.
Miley, 19, is an obvious choice. She has an incredible work ethic, a stable relationship with her man Liam Hemsworth, a huge devotion to fans and an ability to admit that she’s human and makes mistakes. We find her to absolutely be the most relatable star, and whether she’s hanging out with her family or hitting the red carpet, her strength and grace is admirable. Furthermore, her devotion to charity and refusal to conform to traditional body images is unparalleled. She’s an incredible advocate and absolutely deserves the honor. Congrats, Miley!

Go Miley Cyrus! She has dissapoint me in some points and make me proud in others but to me this is great. Oh and this site hates Miley so i think people vote her for that too hehe.

i so dont think miley cyrus should be role model of the year! she adjmitted 2 smoking pot and her songs and style now R sluty. wat happened 2 the old miley we all luved. someone like demi lovato who inspires girls everyday and helps stomp out bullying should be role model of the year. no offense 2 miley fans i used 2 be a fan of miley’s bak in 2008 but now not so much. she shouldnt be role model more people should get that title not her!!

Honey check your facts before you start making judgments. ONE she was joking about the pot. You can tell she’s being sarcastic in the video. TWO how dare you call her a slut. Last time I saw Demi she certainly did NOT look like Betty Crocker. THREE You act like you know Miley “what happened to the Miley we all loved” she’s still the same girl. But that was 2008 and it’s 2012 now. She’s MATURED, it happens to everyone. Miley Cyrus has done COUNTLESS amount of charity. She encourages her fans to get involved in politics and to support equality. She encourages fans to love their body no matter what size they are. She supported Demi while she was in rehab. So what if Miley makes mistakes. Like everyone else she is HUMAN. Get over yourself seriously.

I heard about this story from another website. Doing charity work is good, but on the grounds of being a role model, look at miley sense of 80s groupie style and what her music pretty clearly states… just doing charity work doesnt qualify her to be a role model for anyone whos not loooking foward to being laughable their entire life. I cant judge her personality, but by the way she acts in public, shes just another spoiled brat living in hollywood. She had talent. She pretty much ruined it for me when she pole danced at the KCAs, but thats in her past, and when she started dressing like someone who has a street corner in vegas, thats where she lost most of my respect. She shouldnt be a role model in any sense of the word.

Shut up HL used to judge Miley and not treating her as an example to follow that’s the only good article about her they published in a very long time.
Don’t be mad because for once they’re right and you don’t accept it because the truth hurts everybody knows that.
And Miley has got the best fan base ever, no comparison to selenators belibers or swifties= being overrated like them is not a good thing and I’m not a fan of Miley but I agree with HL in this article.

This is the first time you guys say something nice and coherent about miss miley haha! Okay she deserves it. If i make a list of your mistakes probably you aren’t the best role model too – but even haters gonna have good things don’t they? In the other hand she has made a lot of great things more than any of you.
- She helps 30 charities
- She go to Haiti to help people who can’t hear with the Starkley Hearing Foundation
- She support the equal marriage
- She is agaisnt anorexia
- She talks openly about her mistakes and admit them
- She says to her fans to help their community with Get Ur Good On
- She has an amazing carrer (oh, she’s 19!)
Please look at yourself before beign such a bad person.
She is a human, has feelings and makes mistakes.

When people, even kids, step up and give 10% of their income to charity, whether it’s from babysitting or from a regular job, and also give gernerously of their time, then they will have the right to say something about Miley. Until then, I don’t want to hear it. Miley is a great role model!
