Lauren Scruggs Facing A ‘Marathon Of Recovery,’ Her Mother Reveals

The model’s struggles are taking a toll on her family, but they’re still keeping the faith — she has such a loving support system.

Lauren Scruggs‘ recovery after her horrific airplane accident has been well-documented, and now her loving mother is giving an update on the trials and tribulations on the family.

Lauren, 23, and her family are finally coming to terms with the extent of her injuries, her mother revealed on their CaringBridge blog.

“The last three weeks, we all have been running on adrenaline, and now some of the reality is hitting,” she writes. “Now that the excitement of Christmas is over, we are continuing the marathon of recovery, constantly being reminded that this is not a sprint, but a MARATHON……..a long rode for Lauren, and us, as her family. We trust Jesus, but, being human, this is hard…..very very hard. Life stopped as we knew it, and changed overnight.”
