Watching Leah break down in tears as Ali went through her MRI scan was heartbreaking, but luckily that nightmare is finally over!
On the Dec. 27 episode of Teen Mom 2, Leah Messer received some good news at last — her daughter Aliannah does NOT have any mental abnormalities! Viewers watched as a terrified Leah had to see her baby girl sedated. “I wanted her to see me strong and know that I was there for her,” she told Life & Style. “But I feared she’d be sedated and not wake up. Any time I ever went to a doctor’s appointment with her, it was always bad news.”
The Teen Mom was so relieved to finally hear that Ali’s brain isn’t abnormal, though she is developing at a slower rate than her twin Aleeah. “I was relieved,” Leah said. “The worst thing I could’ve heard would be that there’s something wrong with Aliannah’s brain.”
Before she started to get answers, Leah felt powerless as she watched Ali struggle. “There were times I just wanted to give up, but I knew as Ali’s mom I had to stay strong,” she confessed. “I don’t want Ali to think that she can’t do everything Aleeah can.”
Aleeah started walking a year ago, but Leah’s proud of the progress Ali is making too. “Ali’s been through so much, and she just came right through it.”
She still is waiting for answers about Ali, but until then she’s happy in love with her new boyfriend Jeremy Calvert. And things are heating up fast! “Jeremy and I do talk about getting engaged,” she revealed.
Leah trusts that Jeremy’s there for the girls — he even threw them a birthday party for turning two years old! “It was kind of emotional,” Leah shared. “Time has gone by really fast. To think how far they’ve come — that was really special for us.”
