'Mob Wives' Star Carla Facciolo Tells Her Kids: 'Santa Isn't What He Seems'

Carla Facciolo

Carla tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively about how she explained the truth about Santa to her kids.

Mob Wives star Carla Facciolo is a practical woman and a practical mother. Even though she loves Christmas time, she isn’t going to lie to her 9-year-old twins Joseph and Carmen about Santa Claus.

“They do and they don’t [believe in Santa],” Carla told HollywoodLife.com exclusively at the VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul event at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC on Dec. 18. “They are right at that point.”

Carla partially told her kids the truth. “I kind of told them listen, Santa is not all what he seems to be,” she explained. “He can’t get you everything you ask for.”

“Every day they put a new thing on the list,” she continued. “I’m like listen, ‘Santa sees one list. He doesn’t want to put anything else on it.’ How much more can I go to the store?”

And this year, Carla’s kids are asking for a lot from Santa. “My son wants lego, lego, legos,” she said. “My daughter, as she gets older, she’s not into any little toys anymore. They want the new iPhone, the big things.”

But Carla plans to keep her kids grounded. “I’m not giving them an iPhone,” she shared.

I don’t blame her. The kids think Santa is magical just like I did when I was little even though I used to wonder how could one man make it to everyone’s house in one night and how could he get in a house if it had no chimney.
I think kids should be told the truth but no one in my family agrees with me so rather than have my entire family ready to kill me I keep my mouth shut. lol.

Kids deserve to not have their childhood and their innocence ripped away so early. There’s no harm in having them believe in something like Santa when they’re little, but at the age of 9 they should know the truth by then. But, this whole ‘kids should be told the truth’ argument I strongly disagree with. What’s wrong with letting them believe in something positive? This is exactly why this country is going to hell in a handbasket so quickly.
