Sarah Palin passed on running for President but she’ll reportedly be back on your TV screen if new negotiations to bring her top rated show prove successful. Question: can Kate Gosselin be convinced to go camping with her again?
Sarah Palin is craving the reality TV spotlight! The New York Post is reporting that the former Governor of Alaska is in talks to shoot a second season of her TLC reality show Sarah Palin’s Alaska.
“The plan would be to shoot this in the summer of 2012,” well-known producer Mark Burnett says. “By the time we edit it, the election will be over,” Burnett says. “But I am sure the election would be mentioned [in the show].”
Although TLC said in January 2011 that there were no plans to renew the reality show, the ratings were gold. Sarah’s show lured an averaged 3.2 million viewers to TLC each week and the show’s premiere raked in 5 million viewers. That makes it the number one premiere on TLC ever!
“It makes perfect sense, [to show the presidential election] because that is what’s going on,” Mark says. “But it would be again Sarah in Alaska, living with Todd and the family and having adventures juxtaposed with doing her Fox News bits and discussing whatever is going on.”
There were reports that Sarah was shopping another reality show featuring her husband Todd Palin but networks were reportedly turned off with their $1 million asking price.
“That is totally inaccurate,” Mark adds. “In fact, the idea around snowmobiling was to be part of an episode in ‘Sarah Palin’s Alaska’ — not a series.”
