Charlize Theron: Parents & Teachers Need To Be Held Accountable For Bullying

Charlize Theron Young Adult spoke to Charlize at the premiere of her new film ‘Young Adult’ and she admits growing up is ‘hard’ but she has some advice for kids who are going through tough times in school!

Charlize Theron wants YOU to stand up to bullying! The actress stars in the new Jason Reitman directed film Young Adult, about a woman who was the ultimate “mean girl” in high school. Although she says she’s nothing like her character, she realizes bullying is a huge epidemic in our school system.

“It’s so hard,” Charlize says. “I think growing up in general is hard and I think throwing a bunch of adolescent kids together and telling them to do it together is really tough. You can’t really expect teenagers to suss that stuff out and I believe that should be in the hands of teachers and parents. For kids it’s really tough, it’s really tough.

What’s her advice for kids going through a hard time?

“If anything, just know the little stuff … the little innocent things will just make you stronger.”
