Was it America’s sweetheart or the triple threat who got the boot before the semi-finals?
The X Factor results were as dramatic as ever Dec. 8. After an incredible night of performances, it was anyone’s guess who would be in the bottom two. Unfortunately, we had to lose someone — and Rachel Crow and Marcus Canty were on the chopping block.
After the judges were in a deadlock — Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul voted for Rachel and L.A. Reid and Nicole Scherzinger wanted Marcus — it went to America’s vote. And America voted for Marcus to make it to the semi-finals, leaving 13-year-old Rachel sobbing on the floor. In fact, her mom rushed to the stage to help her and she could barely speak. Nicole felt responsible and was bawling too.
Before choosing Marcus, Nicole explained she didn’t want to choose either of them, which was why she decided to let America vote. However, after hearing the crowd’s ‘boos’ over her decision, it looked like she wished she could have changed her mind. Viewers were so upset, in fact, #firenicole was trending on Twitter for more than an hour!
