Kailyn and Chelsea Houska reveal why being a teen mom is not glamorous at all in a new interview on ‘Good Morning America.’

Teen Mom 2 stars Kailyn Lowry and Chelsea Houska don’t want other young women to follow in their footsteps and get knocked up as teenagers. Despite being celebrities now that they are cast members in the hit MTV reality series, they both warn that it’s not a glamorous lifestyle.

“I think it’s really important to notice that in one episode, one of us is crying, one of us is fighting with their boyfriend, one of them doesn’t have money to buy diapers, one of them is about to go to jail,” Kailyn shared on Good Morning America Dec. 6. “There’s no way that any of that is glamorous. It’s so hard. I don’t think people really think about that when they’re saying that it’s glamorous.

Chelsea agreed that being a Teen Mom isn’t easy. “I always wanted my family together,” she confessed. “[Be] married when you have a child. When you have a kid young, you just can’t always give them every opportunity.”

Kailyn is always battling with her baby daddy Jo Rivera. “Right now we’re in good place stable to co-parent,” she admitted. But it takes “lot of hard work. We’re still a roller coaster.”

And Chelsea still can’t get over the fact that her on-and-off boyfriend Adam Lind called their 2-year-old daughter Aubrey a mistake. “That was right after she was born,” she recalled. “I try not to think about that too much anymore. It still hurts.”

But while being a Teen Mom has it’s hardships and the cameras add even more stress, Kailyn and Chelsea still love their little ones more than anything.

“He’s good,” Kailyn gushed of her son Isaac. “He’s almost two, walking and running.”

Aubrey “turned two in September,” added Chelsea. “She’s hilarious.”

They make alot more money than most people do..and lets not forget kailyn gets free housing and both her and chelsea get medicaid. None of them work hard! Chelsea is always on the couch and kailyn takes vacations, gets her nails done, highlights in her hair and lets not forget she is always stuffing her face. There r so many families who r homeless and have to go to a soup kitchen for food. Give me a break they dont always have money for diapers and their lives arent glamorous. Mtv and dr.drew should get rid of the teen moms after two seasons. The first season is always good but then they get money and next thing u know they have fake boobs!

The show does not glamorize Teen Pregnancy. But chelsea and jenelle ,Kali OH and farrah ( 0 ) ( 0 ) miss boob job facebook and twitter does . me and my husband were both teens when we had our son , I know our son had clothing , food , milk , Diapers etc. before i went and got my hair and nails done lip rings new pugs etc .. They are always trying to DOWN play the whole teen mom thing and how they are always broke .. ” they must had to sign something from mtv “.

I mean they get money for being on the show , they are also on covers of magzines and they must get perks if there kids wear a brand name beacuse if u see aubree or jace in it , u must have it for ur kid ..lol

i am sorry they live a good life .. thanks to MTV

They dont have money for diapers? Ya right….who are they trying to fool? We all know they get paid from MTV for the show and I am sure it is enough money to buy diapers. Get real Teen Moms.

I think in some causes teenager mothers do struggle to buy diapers, but in the “teen mom’s” causes it comes down to priorities, these girls are forever changing their hair colors, hair styles, and having their nails done. If they can afford to go to the salon all the time they can afford to buy diapers.

I call BS – They say that they don’t always have money to buy diapers. They are paid A LOT OF MONEY to be on the show.

No kidding! If they don’t have money to buy diapers then they’re obviously blowing all that MTV money on stuff average teens would (hair, nails, clothes, cars). You’re not “average teens” anymore, you’re “Moms” first. Priorities girls…

This show is not glamous at all if i watched this when i was 16 i would think so. I get very emotional and think they are so young to be going through this. it makes me think that at 27 i am still not ready for a baby. Yes they get paid and get all kinds of free things but i bet as much as they love their children they wouldn’t do it again.

Well then, who is paying for the hair extensions, dye jobs and orange tans? MTV? Dr. Drew? Get off your a**es and get a job. You can apply for Social Services Day Care sliding scale.

While I agree that the show does not glamorize Teen Pregnancy, I see these girls on facebook and twitter and they get plenty of perks for being on Teen Mom, free Jewelery, free clothes, paid for speaking engagements, etc. Even getting a regular job is easier for them because they will bring in customers. They go out quite a bit. Right now these girls are living a good life and nothing can convince me otherwise.

Agreed 100%. They have it MADE compared to 99% of teen moms that are not on TV. They prove it all over their twitter accounts.

I think it came out in Amber Portwood’s case that she was making $280,000 per six month in contract with MTV?

I think these girls are getting paid but to keep with the vein of the show MTV has them ‘create’ money issues, pretend they aren’t getting money etc. If it’s supposed to show the issues of real teen moms and the girls are talking about having all the money they get paid then it isn’t realistic at all.
